Last time we shared some of our fears as writers
This time let's share some good news .
I've heard of the Snoopy Dance, high fiving, screeching and screaming.
I've heard of wailing and crying and people just being plain dumbfounded
Maybe you moon walked, did a triple flip on the furniture or cartwheeled.
Maybe you didn't jump so high you landed it a tree, but...
Tell me what you did when you got your book contract.
And if you're not a writer, share what you did when you got some exciting news.

LOL, Tina. Love that cartoon. When I first sold, I called everybody I new and squeed like a wild woman. I was so excited.

You bought them ear plugs for the next one I hope... LOL

I was excited and told my kids and husband right away. I think they were shocked that it finally happened. LOL

Diane,

Nice to know our families have such faith in us huh. Well, they say they do, but when time goes on they gotta wonder. I know I wonder and I'm the writer.

Okay - so I stay hyperexcited all the time anyway, so I tend to respond in a very opposite way when amazing news happens. Instead of squealing like monkey with ADHD, I sit in stunned silence for a few minutes...
AND THEN
start talking 100 miles a minute, spilling out all the info in waves of semi-intelligible sentences. :-)

I save the monkey squealing as an everyday occurrance.

Nice cartoon, Tina

Pepper LOL

I'm kind of the sit quiet get all shaky, cry and waiting for the contract to disappear from my fingers type. I'm too sophisticated for monkey squeals...

HAHA

Well, you know this is all hypothetical. I"ve never received a book contract before, so I might start swinging from trees and monkey squealing when it happens. Who knows?!? (Notice, I wrote 'when', not 'if' - I'm an optimist) ;-)

Optimisim is an excellent thing. I could use more it at times. I've been optimistic for over twenty years now. But I do have the two books coming out in eform this year, sooo
