Don't let Monsters Fix your Hair...

Another Manic Monday passed. Tuesday has arrived and I am exhausted.

Funny thing though, I didn't do much of anything.

Well, not much... except fight the Migraine Monster. And during that battle something happened. Something quite... for lack of a better word... Funny.

Now don't get me wrong... please understand me, I know there is nothing funny about a migraine. Having dealt with them since childhood, I am well aware of just how devastating they can be.

I know how it feels to have such pressure through my head and body, I'm certain I will explode, that while I wish I could just go numb. And sometimes do, but not in a relaxing sort of way.

I understand what the desire to crawl into a dark, dark hole and die means.

I understand the concept of invisible fire pokers stabbing through my eye sockets and searing my brain, like the talons of some massive migraine monster.

This same monster stretches and twists my body like a human rubber band, (stretch, contract, snap) till I want to cry.  I might want to scream but anything above a whisper sounds like a sonic boom in my head.

I know how it feels when the headache zaps your body and settles into your stomach leaving you so nauseated you just want to puke. And any smell adds to the need.

I would take something for the pain and have, but it usually adds to my upset stomach or leaves my heart rioting, not a pleasant mix with a migraine.

Yes, I understand the desire for quiet and darkness in a sterile room with no smells.

So please... don't sent me any letters telling me how I don't understand migraines and what they do to people. Don't skewer me for finding a bright spot from the hellacious pain I just went through.

But I found it... having crawled out from under my blanket, because I am finally on the downside of my two day migraine. YAYYY I say as I lift my pinky in triumph ( my body is too exhausted to do much else)

I realize that ( as usual) while I was fighting my migraine monster. While I flopped like a beached fish in bed, and scrunched my head beneath my pillow looking for a moment's relief, the migraine monster had not only been attacking every nerve, muscle and fiber of my being... it had been fixing my hair. And the new do is well... for lack of a better word... Funny.

Take a look.

(Hmmm I almost look like the monster)

Well, there you have it. That is why I warn you... Don't let Monster fix your Hair

LOL! (To the hair do, not the migraine.)

I've never had a migraine, only heard of them... and I'm grateful for that!

Other than the left side where it's frizzy, it's not bad!

But I would never want to deal with migraines on a constant basis. I think I had one when I was in high school, but I'm not sure. It sounds like what you went through. I definitely feel for you. You've had them since a child? Drs. don't know why? You need a God intervention.

Patty, the do was worse and I toned it down some with water. But when you have a migraine it's hard to brush your hair. I wouldn't wish migraines on anyone.

Linda,

Linda, lovely to have you visit.

Like I told Patty the do was much worse, ratty and hurt to get out. I would love a God intervention. Been praying for the migraines to disappear for years. Thankfully, they are not as persistent as they used to be. And usually the ones I have aren't as bad, but every so often... I did go to a doctor for them, they put me on medicine that the side effects were a fluttery heart so they put me on more medicine to calm my heart and that left me almost incapable of functioning. I don't care for the migraines, but I'm not into the other either. So I watch my diet and have fewer less intensive headaches.

Sorry for all the pain you went through. (((hugs)))

I agree, I'd stay away from the hair styling monster. That's for future reference. LOL

Glad you found humor in your trial.

I love humor. It's gotten me through a lot of stuff.
